Extra-curricular activities

At Redeemer Classical School we understand the value of providing opportunities for further exploration of specific subjects outside of the classroom. Below you’ll find descriptions of some of the educational and engaging activities available to Redeemer students.

CHOIR CLUB

The Redeemer Choir Club is an opportunity for Logic and Rhetoric School students (6th - 12th grades) to develop as singers and ensemble musicians. The Choir repertoire includes pieces in Latin, world languages, and English; practices and performances build confidence and camaraderie. The Choir Club is an introductory choral experience where students have a chance to meet with the challenges, rewards, and joys of using the human voice as an instrument in an ensemble setting for the glory of God.

Drama Club

The Drama Club is a place for Logic and Rhetoric School students to further use creativity and expression as they present plays to a wide audience. Students at Redeemer perform adaptations of classical works of literature … and they love it. Drama literally makes a work come alive for both the actors and the audience. During the process, students also gain experience and confidence in public speaking.

The Drama Club prepares and performs two productions per school year. Chosen works include:

Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare
A Charlie Brown Christmas by Charles Shultz
The Tempest by Shakespeare
Comedy of Errors by Shakespeare
Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

Yearbook club

The Yearbook Club offers a fun opportunity to tell the story of Redeemer Classical School and determine what the archives will hold for future generations.

Being part of the Yearbook team helps students learn to manage time well, prioritize and be a reliable team member. Students who participate in the club gain experience in:

  • Photojournalism and photography

  • Interviewing

  • Feature and caption writing

  • Graphic design

  • Editing

  • General computer use

These lessons occur through the engaging and exciting process of creating and publishing a book that is greatly anticipated each year.

Other After School Activities

Redeemer offers other after school activities to expand our students’ realm of experiences. These activities have included STE(A)M Club, Chess Club, ballet, martial arts, gymnastics, gingerbread construction and instrumental music lessons. Many students take advantage of these activities throughout their time at Redeemer and become quite accomplished in their areas of interest.
